This platform has been created by survivors and their supporters to raise awareness about the actions of Nizar Mohamed (@yogi.nizar), co-owner of OneBhakthi in Ahangama, Sri Lanka.
Multiple individuals have come forward with deeply painful accounts of sexual abuse, carried out under the false guise of Marma Therapy.
We believe it is crucial to bring these experiences into the open — both to honour the bravery of those who have suffered and to help prevent future harm.
In this year alone, four separate cases spanning a three-year period have been reported to the police, revealing a clear pattern of abuse that must not be allowed to continue. This leaves the number of knows survivors to over a dozen.
Unfortunately, due to his connections with individuals like Maithri Gunaratne, Nizar Mohamed has access to legal representation (Charitha Gunaratne) and the ability to bribe members of both the judicial system and the Ahangama police force. Although corruption is not uncommon in Sri Lanka, it makes the pursuit of justice significantly more challenging and drawn out.
Key facts:
Every survivor who has come forward has reported penetrative sexual assault, or acts without consent.
Nizar Mohamed has tried to shutdown anyone that goes against him, threatening people with defamation cases against them.
Nizar Mohamed has boasted that he will escape accountability by bribing the judge and police.
Bribed Judicial Service? During a hearing on 24/4/25 regarding two of the cases, the judge, siding with Nizar Mohamed’s lawyer, Charitha Gunaratne, claimed that just two cases over a ten-year span did not justify his detention — dismissing both prior and subsequent offences that were being presented to them.
Bribed Police Service? The Officer in Charge (IOC) of Ahangama Police stated that since the acts were committed only twice in ten years, Mohamed posed no risk to the public - choosing to ignore official statements of other survivors.
Bribed Police Service? Ahangama Police advised the UK Embassy of the wrong court date in an effort to make sure that the survivors would miss the court hearing.
Bribed Police Service? Ahangama Police Station advised survivors NOT to attend the court hearing.
Following the police reports, OneBhakthi has denied that some of the victims ever received treatments, despite clear evidence proving otherwise.
OneBhakthi have made a number of changes to their online presence, including social media and website to support their case.
OneBhakthi has denied all allegations, initially attempting to discredit the first survivor, Kate, by claiming she fabricated her story to damage OneBhakthi’s reputation due to her connections with another Yoga Shala — a claim that is untrue and can be disproven by reading her account.
Even as the number of reported victims has grown to over a dozen, OneBhakthi continues to deny all allegations, with co-owner Jules Jenkinson still standing by Nizar Mohamed.
Jules Jenkinson was personally informed of the findings of the first police investigation in a face-to-face meeting on 22/3/25, shortly after Nizar Mohamed’s arrest.
Having spent time working in Dubai during covid, Nizar Mohamed left under similar accusations.
OneBhakthi has also arranged for authentic Google Reviews, which aligned with police reports, to be removed. However, Google has since begun intervening to restore these reviews.
Speaking out about abuse is incredibly difficult. It takes tremendous courage, especially when the perpetrator hides behind a facade of healing and spirituality.
This space was created to offer truth, support, and a safe place for survivors to share their experiences.
